When to plant Creeping Mazus
Creeping mazus is a very low, dense groundcover that forms a green carpet and bears small purplish-blue two-lipped flowers in late spring and summer (NC State: around June and July). Plant in spring in moist, rich, well-drained soil in sun or part shade; it roots at the nodes, tolerates foot traffic, and can be mowed, making it a lawn alternative between stepping stones.
