Sprout Authority does not require an account to read articles or use its core tools. We do not sell personal information.

Information collected automatically

Hosting and analytics services may record device, browser, approximate region, page, referral, and usage information. Outbound retailer clicks record the product, source page, action, and retailer. When configured, a salted one-way hash of the network address helps identify automated traffic; the raw address is not stored in the click event.

Saved garden settings

My Garden can save a ZIP code, frost-risk choice, USDA zone, crop names, completed or skipped jobs, and dates when a job should appear again. This information is stored in your browser and is not sent to a Sprout Authority account or database. Use Clear My Garden on the planting calendar to remove it.

Downloading a garden calendar creates the file in your browser. The file does not include your ZIP code or frost-risk choice, but it does include crop names and planting dates. Importing it shares those crop names and dates with the calendar provider you choose.

When site analytics is enabled, My Garden interactions may record a crop slug, job type, and bounded item counts. Analytics events do not include your ZIP code, frost-risk choice, task identifiers, or show-again dates.

Gallery submissions

A photo submission includes the first name, last initial, location, caption, consent record, uploaded images, browser information, and an abuse-prevention hash. Images are resized in the browser to remove embedded location metadata before upload. Submissions remain unpublished until approved.

Affiliate links and external services

Retailers may set their own cookies after you leave this site. Their privacy policies govern that activity. Sprout Authority also relies on hosting, database, image storage, and analytics providers to operate the service.
