When to plant Dutch Iris
Plant Dutch iris bulbs in autumn to early winter for a spring bloom in April to May (NC State). Unlike most summer bulbs in this group, Dutch iris is fall-planted; in cooler regions of its range it is grown as an annual with bulbs planted fresh each fall.
