When to plant Ravenna Grass
Ravenna grass (hardy pampas grass) is a tall clumping perennial plume grass. NC State directs you to cut it back to the ground in late winter to early spring as the center of the clump tends to die out, so set out new plants as spring growth resumes. The leaves have sharp edges, so wear gloves when handling it, and note it can be aggressive and may self-seed in good conditions.
