When to plant
When to plant Shiso
Grow shiso in full sun to partial shade in rich, moist to dry soil; it is very heat- and drought-tolerant and grows quickly once warm (NC State). It self-seeds prolifically and is listed as invasive in several southeastern states, so pinch off flowers before they set seed to limit spread.
The calendar shows this cited seasonal window as an approximate band. It does not convert the season into frost-adjusted dates.
