Prunus dulcis
When to plant almond
Utah State Extension says to buy bare-root almond trees in early spring (or potted trees later in the season) and plant promptly, keeping the graft union 2 to 3 inches above the final soil line. Almonds bloom very early, so an early-spring planting of dormant stock lets roots establish before bloom.
Almond is timed by season rather than your frost dates, so the planting calendar does not generate ZIP-specific dates for it. Check the cited sources below to fine-tune for your area.
