When to plant Almond
Utah State Extension says to buy bare-root almond trees in early spring (or potted trees later in the season) and plant promptly, keeping the graft union 2 to 3 inches above the final soil line. Almonds bloom very early, so an early-spring planting of dormant stock lets roots establish before bloom.
