When to plant Hardy Hibiscus
Plant hardy hibiscus in spring. Clemson says seed can be sown in place outdoors after the last expected frost and that perennial hibiscus can be divided in spring, and to cut old stems back to three to six inches in late winter or early spring. It does not tolerate fall division or transplanting.
