When to plant Blueberry
Plant young bushes in early spring, around late April or early May in cold climates; bare-root plants ship dormant for planting then. Blueberries need acidic soil (pH 4.0 to 5.0), so amend the bed with sulfur the fall before, since it takes months to lower the pH.
