When to plant Virgin's Bower
Virgin's bower is a native clematis vine that bears clouds of fragrant white flowers in late summer to fall (NC State: July to September), one of the few clematis that will flower in shade. Plant in spring or fall in rich, moist, well-drained soil; it climbs by clinging leaf stalks and can be cut back hard in late fall to early spring.
